Nvidia, Cisco and ServiceNow have confirmed contributions to President Donald Trump's White House ballroom project, CNBC reported on October 15. Cisco and ServiceNow each confirmed a $5 million donation.
CNBC attributed a larger figure for Nvidia, a $25 million pledge, to The Washington Post. The Post also reported a $25 million pledge from Apple, which did not immediately respond to CNBC's request for comment. Nvidia's quoted statement confirmed a contribution without specifying its size.
The donations have drawn requests from lawmakers and experts for information about the private donors, along with concerns about possible influence on policy decisions or federal contract awards, according to CNBC.
Nvidia said its support was independent of business interests and described the recipient as a nonpartisan trust. ServiceNow said its business with the U.S. government was separate from its donations and rejected attempts to connect the two.
