President Donald Trump canceled plans to livestream Nidal Hasan's execution in an October 15 Truth Social post, the BBC reported. The execution remains scheduled for December 3, 2026.

Trump reversed his earlier support for the broadcast after criticism of the plan. He said victims' families could still attend in person if they wished.

Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth had spoken with Trump before the announcement and supported the decision. The Pentagon had announced the execution date and streaming plan the previous week.

Hasan killed 13 people in the November 5, 2009, attack at Fort Hood in Texas. He later admitted in court that he was the gunman, according to the BBC.
