Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told NPR on October 13, 2026, that the Trump administration had warned it could stop sharing intelligence with Ukraine unless its forces halted long-range drone strikes on oil refineries in Russia.

Trump said the same day that the United States was still sharing intelligence, according to NPR’s report. The White House did not comment on whether the administration had threatened a cutoff and referred NPR to his remarks.

Zelenskyy said Ukraine would continue strikes on Russian energy and logistics sites unless Russia stopped attacking Ukrainian energy facilities.

The Trump administration previously paused intelligence-sharing with Ukraine in 2025 amid tensions with Zelenskyy, NPR reported.
